Club vice-president Neville Chanin sadly passed away in his sleep during the night of April 16/17.
The funeral shall take place at Gloucester Crematorium on Friday 30th April starting at 2pm. A Tribute, by Beryl & Peter Ashby;
Neville's first love in sport was cross-country running, joining the South London Harriers he became quite successful and ran for the county. He continued until he started to have trouble with his knee and was forced give up. |
We organise a run every Sunday, on which we average around 12 mph and cover up to 90 miles in the summer and 65 miles in the winter. The rides are sociable and normally for the whole day, with stops in the morning and afternoon for tea or coffee and a pub stop at lunchtime. In winter months we do not stop in the afternoon. If you cannot manage a whole day join us for the run to our morning tea stop.
The rides are to Kent, Surrey and Sussex and normally start at Purley (for Sussex and Surrey) meeting outside Andrews Estate Agents near the swimming pool, or from the roundabout at the junction of Shirley Road and Wickham Road near Trinity School for runs into Kent. It is advisable to contact one of the club officials prior to turning up for a ride, just in case there are any last minute changes.
Our clubroom is at Christchurch Methodist Church Hall, Lower Addiscombe Road, Croydon. It is open 20:30 to 22:30 on the second Wednesday of each month.
